Miraj Hotel

− Curtain is thick but can't block the morning light in the Baku summer. The room door is not soundproof and has a gap below (which seems common across hotels I've stayed in Azerbaijan). Consequently as a noise sensitive person I could hear everything in the hallway (which wasn't busy at all and was mostly quiet during my stay) and people having passionate s*x in a neighboring room at 2am, but it's a minor inconvenience + mitigated by the large carpeted room. The location isn't central and the public transportation to and from the hotel wasn't great during my stay, perhaps because somehow a main road was closed and all buses got re-routed, so I mostly had to taxi (not expensive) to other places in town.
