− This was by far the most disappointing and least secure hotel experience I have ever had. On the evening of my check-out, I returned to the hotel immediately after realizing that I had left a valuable personal item in my room. I clearly explained where I had left it and was absolutely certain of its location. The hotel’s response was extremely disappointing. Apart from saying that housekeeping had been asked and that nothing had been found, no meaningful investigation or detailed explanation was ever provided. What shocked me the most was the response from the Front Office Manager when I said I intended to report the matter to the police: “Reporting it to the police won’t help because there are no cameras inside the guest rooms.” As a guest, I expected the hotel to take the matter seriously and conduct a thorough investigation—not to tell me from the outset that reporting it to the police would be useless.
