Good for a short stay way from tourist hotspots, but has some catches
+ Good value short stay, convenient location for canal boat access, huge comfortable rooms, but street noise is very loud. Bring earplugs!
Residence on Thonglor is a very decent property, but it's in need of some refresh work. New windows are desperately needed, both for noise and leaks during heavy rain.
− Its farther away from BTS skytrain line, and there are fewer nearby restaurants at that end of Thonglor.
While the full kitchen is nice to have, there isn't a good grocery store nearby, so not overly useful.

Easy to get to, convenient for the airport and other Bangkok locations.
+ Second visit here for us. Great location. Easy to get to from Pattaya. Good food and drink options nearby.

Not the best location for me, but the accommodation was OK
+ The room had a washing machine which is why I booked it. The breakfast was good. There are a couple of 7/11 style shops right outside the hotel, one on each side of the main road. The rooftop pool was nice, towels provided, but the steps to get in and out are rather wobbly and as a larger person I didn't feel safe using them, which made getting in and out of the pool a little more difficult, but not impossible!
− There are clearly water leakage issues in the room I had. When I arrived, the shower hose was leaking from the shower head, sending water all over. There was no shower curtain. These were resolved, but the water was still running from under the bath panel to the drain behind the toilet for the rest of my stay. The hotel did provide me with extra bath mats to prevent slipping as I have some mobility limitations and slip easily. The floor outside the bathroom was also water damaged and the laminate was damaged and lifting.
I also found the location somewhat limiting. Although it's near a metro (can't remember the letters) station, it didn't seem to be on the right line for anywhere I was visiting so I had to use Grab quite a lot, and the traffic in Bangkok is insanely busy at pretty much all times! This meant I spent a lot of time in traffic.

+ Great neighbourhood far from the noise and tourists of central Bangkok (that may be a drawback for you), in upscale Thonglor.
Friendly staff.
Large rooms.
Laundry downstairs. Supermarkets right next door and across.
Great pool, gym and rooftop bar.
Great value.
− No all day restaurant, no room service after lunch.
