Authentic Maldives - closer to the locals than the resorts
+ We were greeted with a mango juice on check in.
The property was literally across the road from the beach and on a street with plenty of cafes/restaurants.
Clean. Working airconditioning. Good breakfast with eggs free on request.
− I travelled with a friend in a seperate room. She had a beach view room with a great view. My room was on the other side of the building. I was happy to not have a view, but my windows were also frosted which meant I could not see out at all.
Also: the tourist tax should be included in the booking price instead of an ‘add on’. I was willing and able to pay - but what if someone was not prepared? Honesty on the full total price is always appreciated.

Comfortable one-night stay
+ Comfortable stay before going to other islands.
− Staff could help more with ferry and questions, not everyone speaks English, and others who did were not keen to help.

+ Exceptionally clean rooms. Even under black light. Great location with lots of places nearby to eat. Right next to the beach. Very friendly staff.
− Took a while for the air conditioner to cool the room. Needed a key to run, so when you left you always returned to a hot room.

Great for a long work stay in Hulhumalé.
+ Like many other hotels in Hulhumalé, this is on the beach (not a bikini beach), with a spectacular view if you are above floor 1. I was there for work and chose a deluxe double room had a good desk and working space, and enough room around my queen sized bed to move (space is a premium in the Maldives). There is a safe as well, aircon. I did not eat at the hotel but I saw there is a rooftop restaurant. They provide beach towels and have an outside faucet to clean sandy feet. Lots of good places to eat right around the corner. Staff was super nice and helpful. They quickly found a working refrigerator after trying 2 that didn't work.
− The rooms are a bit small, but everything is there and as needed. In good condition, which is not the case in all hotels. Would be nice to have a ceiling fan and screens on the windows to keep them open. I did not have a room with balcony. Breakfast was good but limited (eg. white bread, eggs to order, fresh fruit and Maldivian food) with expensive coffee (4-6 USD), but this is the standard breakfast I have see in Hulhumalé. My room (103) was above the breakfast room, so I could hear them setting up in the morning, which might bother more sensitive sleepers.

+ Nice buffet breakfast with custom made eggs on demand, rather small facility but on the waterfront, OK for a short stay.
− Hulhumale is a man-made island primarily for airport access so not a particularly attractive destination endpoint.
