See other hotelsAs of the 3rd May 2016, Bongate House came under new owners, Anne & Mick. Bongate House is a Georgian Residence built in 1762, the house was once part of Appleby Castle estate (you can find a map of this in our dining room). We have been told but have yet to find evidence that Bongate House was once the home of the Castle Estate Manager and that the property next door was the old coach house. Bongate House sits on 1 acre of land and first became a guest house in 1966. The house itself is a Grade 2 listed building, it has seen many changes over the years and we seek to make a few more without detracting from its charm nor compromising the Grade 2 listing. Please bare with us as we embark on these changes. Situated in a Georgian property, Bongate House offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the Cumbrian countryside. Free parking is possible nearby, and free WiFi is accessible in the hotel rooms.
Bongate House originally dates back to 1760, and the spacious property has been refurbished to a modern style. Rooms each have a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some rooms are en suite, whilst others have shared bathroom facilities.
